IoT in the aisle, not the lab
What a camera on a grocery shelf is for — not a smart-home demo.

Most IoT photos are a board on a desk. MeshRuby is the opposite: a closed camera on a store shelf, a few pictures a day, so a sales manager can order without sending someone to walk the aisle.
The device only sends a JPEG. The useful output is what is thin or gone, plus the photo if you need to look. Power is the shelf, not a weekend battery pack. Shots are a few times a day, not every minute.
If you came here for a lab tutorial, this is not that. It is retail IoT: install once, see the facing, skip the visitor.
